FAQ's
We charge for the plumber or gas engineer to turn up, and he will remain on site for up to an hour to either repair/temp repair or diagnose parts required. The quoted amount is payable in full regardless of whether the engineer is on-site for 10 minutes or the full hour.
Once the engineer has diagnosed the problem he reports to the office. We will then issue you with a quote to supply & fit the required part. The initial call out charge is still payable. In some circumstances we may be able to source and collect the required part for the engineer to repair the same day, again a quote will always be given prior to any further works commence.
All our work is covered by a 12 month guarantee over and above a warranty offered by the manufactures.
Telephone the office, 020 8688 0171, and we will book an appointment for an engineer to attend within 24 hours of your call (excluding sat & sun).
The office is manned Mon- Fri 9am – 5pm, messages are collected over the weekend and any emergencies are called at the earliest opportunity. The engineers work Mon- Fri 8am – 4pm, although we do not offer weekend cover, in the case of emergencies we will attend where possible.
Appointments are booked between 8am – 12 noon, and 12 – 4pm. We are happy to give up to 1 hours’ notice of an engineer’s arrival time.
In most instances this is because the Boiler condense pipe has frozen. Often the Boiler will have an error code which will indicate the cause of the problem, refer to your Boiler Manual or lookup the error code online to confirm the cause of the fault.
To defrost the Condense Pipe:
- Locate the Blockage.
Find the freezing spot in the pipe, usually, the most exposed part of the pipe gets frozen. To find the problem, feel the pipe with your hand. You should be able to find the blocked part as it will be colder than the rest of the pipe. - Pour Hot Water over the frozen spot.
Boil water in your kettle, but let it cool for a few minutes. Make sure the water is not bubbling, or it will cause the pipe to melt. Pour the water over the affected spot. For a better result, you can pour water all over the pipe until it unfreezes. - Restart your Boiler.
After the unfreezing, restart your boiler, and it should work fine. If it still shows the error code or doesn’t start, repeat the above process as sometimes the freezing takes multiple pours of hot water to melt away completely.
If the above doesn’t work, please contact us and we will arrange for an engineer to visit and diagnose the fault.
In most instances a leak can be fixed easily with minimum of inconvenience. Please contact us ASAP to get reconnected.
